Things to know for Traveler.

Hotel: Government-run hotels catering
to tourists charge an automatic 10% VAT and 5% service fee. Most of mini
hotel in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh city are very comfortable and good. There
are so much services for travelers in these hotels. And you should leave
all valuables in hotelīs safe box.

Taxis: Generous tips are not necessary. A small gratuity, however,
is expected by cab drivers. A drive from international Noi Bai Airport to
downtown Hanoi costs about 8 USD by airport taxi.

Restaurant: Tipping is not customary in Vietnam, but it is enormously
appreciated. A 5-10% tip for a meal is a very small amount of money, but
to the average Vietnamese, it could easily equal a day's wages. Avoid
tipping too much, as it will set a precedent for others. And vietnamese
food is specially good.

Street: Do not exchange money on
streets.If you especially need help, you should call loudly and some
people will help you.

Airport: Tourists should check in at
the airport 2 hours before taking an Vietnam international airport and 1
hour before domestic flight.

Tips: The Vietnamese have no
custom of giving tips. However, visitors from different countries have
given tips to some service people like guides, drivers, hotel staffs for
their good service.

Insurance: Travel insurance can
be purchased in Vietnam. There are local and foreign insurance companies
nowadays such as Bao Viet, Petro insurance...
